IITM Noida – Driving Sustainability and Social Responsibility

Green Society of India (GSI) partnered with IITM Noida to engage students and staff in impactful initiatives promoting sustainability, community care, and environmental awareness. The campaign aimed to instill values of responsible action, eco-conscious living, and social empathy among the next generation of leaders.

Swachhta Week Donation Drive

On 30th September 2025, IITM students and staff enthusiastically contributed reusable items such as clothes, books, and essentials for communities in need. The drive encouraged participants to embrace the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, minimizing waste while fostering compassion, responsibility, and active civic participation. 

Awareness Session on Sustainable Tourism

As part of the campaign, GSI conducted an interactive session highlighting responsible travel, resource conservation, and respecting local communities. Students learned how adopting sustainable tourism practices can protect the environment, benefit local populations, and reduce the ecological footprint of travel.

Old Clothes Donation Camp at Shram Vihar

The campaign also included an Old Clothes Donation Camp, where students donated clothes, shoes, and other reusable items for underprivileged communities at Shram Vihar, Shaheen Bagh. Each contribution brought warmth, support, and a sense of care to those in need, reinforcing the power of small but meaningful actions in driving social change.

Through these combined efforts, IITM Noida students and staff showcased that conscious choices — whether through donating, recycling, or adopting sustainable practices — can collectively lead to a cleaner, greener, and more compassionate India.
