The Green Society of India (GSI), in collaboration with Indian Exhibition Services (IES), proudly announces a strategic partnership with Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Hon’ble Minister for Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Government of Delhi, for the upcoming World Environment Expo (WEE) 2025.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Delhi’s journey toward ecological resilience and sustainable urban development.

Key Initiatives Discussed

As part of this collaboration, GSI presented a series of high-impact environmental programs to create long-term ecological change:

1. Green-Utsav

A vibrant eco-festival that blends cultural celebrations with environmental education, featuring interactive green-themed experiences to engage citizens and inspire sustainable lifestyles.

2. Green Parenting

A unique initiative designed to empower parents with knowledge and tools to raise environmentally conscious children, driving long-term behavioral change within families.

Spotlight on E-Waste Management

One of the major highlights of the meeting was GSI’s E-Waste Collection & Recycling Campaign. With Delhi generating thousands of tonnes of electronic waste annually, this initiative aims to:

  • Set up designated e-waste storage and collection centers across the cityEducate citizens on safe disposal practices
  • Partner with recyclers for scientific waste processing
  • Reduce toxic pollution and landfill burden

Minister Sirsa expressed strong interest in the initiative and assured institutional support to facilitate land allocation, permissions, and coordination for its success.

Government Support Requested

To ensure the successful execution of these projects, GSI has requested assistance in the following key areas:

  • Financial Grants & Program Funding – For scalable, long-term implementation
  • Land Access & Permissions – For tree plantations, Miyawaki forests, and e-waste storage facilities
  • Institutional Coordination – Between government bodies to streamline approvals, logistics, and monitoring
